Relaxed Pyjama Party Concert

What happens when an entire choir decides to swap its concert clothes for pyjamas? Naturally, Viihdekuoro JyväSet’s pyjama party! On Thursday 12 November at Kortepohja Daycare School and Sunday 15 November at Palokka School, there’s no need to dress in your finest—in fact, the opposite. Pyjamas are positively recommended concert attire, as this time JyväSet dives into the world of dreams through music. Expect a gentle concert where you can laugh, sigh, daydream and perhaps even yawn a little. The songs wander through the landscapes of dreams and aspirations, into nightmare territory and the moods of sleepless nights. And Father Christmas of Sleep (Nukkumatti) hasn’t been forgotten—he may well appear before the audience has time to count to ten. The concert’s theme is “Relaxed Pyjama Party,” for adult tastes, and the choir members have embraced it wholeheartedly under the direction of Jaana Eloranta. Also joining them wholeheartedly are pianist Sinikka Kivelä and Jyväskylän Sana-Sepot, led by Hellevi Piispanen. Together, they will guide JyväSet into the night—but promise to make sure the audience doesn’t fall asleep too early. Tickets cost €15 and include a nightcap. If you arrive wearing pyjamas, your ticket costs €12. Woollen socks, as well as Ainot and Reinot slippers, are also highly recommended concert attire. At the end of the concert there will be a woollen sock raffle; if luck is on your side, you might take home a warm pair. Viihdekuoro
