Ancient castles and castle hills

Science writer and nature photographer Harri Ahonen visits Muurame library on Thursday, November 12th. The topic covers ancient castles and hillforts, which can also be found in the Central Finland region. The lecture also touches on the history of the late Bronze and Iron Ages, the construction and significance of hillforts in both local and cultural-historical contexts. Ahonen has studied general history and the lecture information is based on archaeological and historical documents. Ahonen has published a non-fiction book "Ancient Castles and Hillforts," which presents 80 hillforts from southern Finland as excursion destinations. Warm welcome!
