Are You in the Know? — A Children’s Musical

Everyday life at a school in Jyväskylä takes unexpected turns when new pupils arrive in the classroom. Friendships form, but there are also painful situations and bullying. Can reconciliation be found? What begins to grow if we dare to ask, listen and meet one another? *Are You in the Know?* is a new, emotionally rich and engaging musical aimed especially at primary-school-aged children and their families. Dozens of children and adults take the stage as actors, dancers, soloists, choir members and live-band musicians. The musical explores friendship, building reconciliation, internationalism, prayer and hope. Commissioned and now receiving its premiere, the musical was written by Anna-Mari Kaskinen and composed by Henna-Maria Harju. Directed by Mika Lahtinen; choreography by Piia-Maria Aho; choir direction by Sanna Saarenpää; band direction by Janette Rantanen. The performance lasts approximately two hours, including an interval. The musical is produced by Jyväskylän seurakunta, with Jyväskylän Helluntaiseurakunta and Kansan Raamattuseura as partners. We recommend arriving by public transport. Parking is available in the Hipposhalli parking area in spaces requiring a parking disc. The venue is accessible, including the restroom. Induction loop listening areas are located in the middle of the auditorium floor and at the back of the auditorium. A limited number of tickets are available for sensory-friendly seating.
