Shadow Kalevala

This guarded secret drips out in the new production of the Jyväskylä Student Theatre. In Shadow-Kalevala, the inner dirty laundry of the human meets the ideal of purity and perfection. Where is the three-dimensional, rough life to be found? Shadow-Kalevala is a reinterpreted play based on the Kalevala, directed by Perttu Puranen, Mimmi Salo and Auli Toikkanen. The play is written by Puranen and Toikkanen, and the choreography is by Salo. The team consists of old "jyttiläinen" members. The Kalevala is a Finnish-Karelian book based on poetic songs, published in 1849, collected from various sources in Karelia and Finland.
