A Lecture for Expectant Parents on Childbirth and Pregnancy

As part of the project “Implementation of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Activities in Bauska Municipality,” a free lecture for expectant parents on childbirth and pregnancy will take place on 13 November at 16:00 in the second-floor hall of Bauska Municipality Council, Uzvaras iela 1, Bauska. The lecture will be led by midwife Ilze Pūķe, who will provide expectant parents with useful knowledge about pregnancy and childbirth and help them prepare for this new stage of life. The lecture will cover the physical and emotional aspects of pregnancy, the course of childbirth and options for pain relief, as well as practical questions related to preparing for childbirth and welcoming a baby into the family. The aim is to help expectant parents better understand pregnancy and childbirth, learn practical skills, and strengthen their confidence as they prepare for parenthood. At the lecture, you will learn: what physical and emotional changes occur during pregnancy; how childbirth progresses and how to recognise when it is time to go to the maternity hospital; what natural and medical pain-relief options are available; how a partner can support the expectant mother during pregnancy and childbirth; how to prepare for the first days with a newborn; and how to prepare emotionally and practically for changes in family life.
