Theatre Awards 2026: The Goat Bites the Horse’s Heel

As the Year of the Fire Horse prepares to hand over the reins to the Year of the Fire Goat at the end of the year, it is the perfect time at Valmieras teātris to look back on the past season and honour our own for their work. This year, after a longer break, we are also inviting audiences to celebrate with us! At the end-of-year awards ceremony, The Goat Bites the Horse’s Heel, we will announce the past season’s best actors as chosen by their colleagues, the Audience Award for Production, the Technical Staff Member of the Year, and the audience favourites of the 2025/2026 season, as voted for by the theatre’s supporters. Actor Sandis Runge will create the evening’s festive atmosphere, while the Tarakānu ansamblis, made up of Valmieras teātris actors, will provide the music. Expect a festive atmosphere, laughter, surprises, and a good time together. See you there!
