Christmas 2026 concert: for the first time in nearly ten years in Rovaniemi, performed entirely by local musicians. Händel’s Messiah Oratorio is one of classical music’s best-loved works, and its most famous choral movement, the “Hallelujah,” is among the best-known pieces of music of all time. This Christmas, the Messiah Oratorio will be performed in Rovaniemi by Seitakuoro, conducted by Kadri Joamets. The orchestra and soloists have been assembled from the city’s finest Baroque music performers. The concert features the oratorio’s first section, which deals with Christmas, as well as the “Hallelujah” chorus. The oratorio is produced in cooperation with Lapin Musiikki- ja tanssiopisto and has received a grant from the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation. Concert duration approximately 1 hour, no interval. Unnumbered seating. Please arrive in good time to ensure a good seat.
