Song Hunters is a lively, humorous music-theatre performance that delves into the roots of Finnish song tradition. The story begins when Someone Who Knows Nothing meets two slightly eccentric guides—the Song Historians. These kind-hearted, somewhat scruffy characters take them on a journey through the ages, from broadsheet ballads to rekilaulu folk songs, and from runo singing to the present day. Along the way, they discover how songs from the past still live on in today’s music—in schlager, rock, pop and rap. The performance combines live music, storytelling and playful theatricality in a way that draws in young audiences. On stage, they also encounter colourful characters, from market traders to Elias Lönnrot, and learn without even noticing, having fun together. The Laulumetsästäjät tour will be carried out in collaboration with the Rovaniemi Villages Development Foundation in autumn 2026.
