TARJA TURUNEN BRINGS HER FRISSON LIVE 2027 HEAVY TOUR TO TAMPERE

One of Finland’s most internationally successful artists, Tarja Turunen returns to Finnish concert stages in February 2027 with her new Frisson Live 2027 tour. This is no ordinary concert tour, but Tarja’s spectacular return to the heart of heavier music: expect full-scale heavy shows where her distinctive lyrical soprano, symphonic power and metallic intensity come together in the way Turunen has been known for for nearly 30 years.

Frisson Live 2027 opens a new chapter in Tarja’s career. Alongside the tour, she will release a new studio album, her first full-length album in a heavier direction in seven years. With the new material, Tarja returns to the dramatic, powerful and metallic expression that has left a lasting mark on the international heavy and symphonic metal scene.

The tour’s name, “Frisson”, refers to that fleeting moment when music gets under your skin and raises goosebumps. That is precisely the feeling the new concert production aims for: alongside fragile and intimate moments, there will be explosive choruses, sweeping dynamic arcs and uncompromising metal energy. The setlist combines new material with key songs from Tarja’s career.

Turunen is known as one of the most iconic voices in symphonic metal and heavy music. A classically trained soprano, she combined operatic vocal technique with metal in a way that influenced the emergence and development of an entire genre. As Nightwish’s original vocalist, she helped create the international breakthrough of Finnish metal, and her successful solo career has since cemented her position as a unique, charismatic and constantly evolving artist.

The Finnish shows in February 2027 offer the chance to experience Tarja in the setting where her voice has its greatest impact: at the centre of a heavy concert filled with grand drama, a heavy sound and music that raises goosebumps. The opening acts are Norwegian rock band Lily Löwe and Czech symphonic power metal band Symphonity.
