On Friday, 22 January, Tampereen Klubi will host a true celebration of Finnish-language rock, as Flippipuisto, Krypta and Grillijono K.O. take the stage on the same night for the first time. All three bands are in a very active period and may be in better form than ever. Krypta released its new album, Unen oma, in the spring; Grillijono K.O. will release its third full-length album, Ei tällä elä... mutta kuolee nopeammin, in January; and Flippipuisto will release the first previews of its long-awaited second album at the turn of the year. Now is a great opportunity to see all three bands at their absolute peak on the same night!

FLIPPIPUISTO

Having toured Finland’s live-music venues for more than ten years, Flippipuisto is known for its distinctive punk rock, which smoothly combines ’90s-inspired energy with Finnish rock, twangy guitar music, ska, Olarin-style train rap and psychedelic garage. Despite its musical departures, the band has created a recognisable sound that pays no heed to genre boundaries. Flippipuisto is also known for its surprising collaborators, including Dxxxa D, Esa Kotilainen and Tuomio. Years of regular gigging have made the band a reliable live act, whose performances are full of energy and unexpected turns. The band is currently preparing its long-awaited second album, with the first previews due in early 2027.

KRYPTA

One of the most intriguing new names in Finnish rock, Krypta came to public attention with its debut album Outo laakso, released in late 2023. Blending occult rock and traditional Finnish rock in its own distinctive way, the band has since toured clubs and festivals across Finland, including Tuska and Provinssi. Nominated for Newcomer of the Year at the Indie Awards, Krypta released its second full-length album, Unen oma, in April 2026. The album received positive reviews and further strengthened the band’s position in the Finnish rock scene. In Krypta’s music, catchy melodies, a mystical atmosphere and a dark rock tradition come together in a distinctive whole that also shines on stage.

GRILLIJONO K.O.

At the forefront of Finnish turbo rock, Grillijono K.O. is known for going all out. The band fearlessly combines rock, punk and metal, bringing together catchy riffs, inventive pop melodies and guitar-hero solos with throat-shredding hardcore vocals. Its lyrics pair dark humour, irony and unapologetic mockery with more serious subjects. Since making its debut release in 2016, the band has rapidly grown in popularity in recent years. The 2024 release Härmägeddon brought the band to a wider audience, and the track Ei oo sun oma vika että oot niin vitun tyhmä has passed one million Spotify streams. Grillijono K.O.
