The Beat From Palookaville (SWE), Donna and the Dynamiters

The Beat From Palookaville is one of Europe’s most distinctive and authentic R&B and ska bands. Guitar virtuoso Anders Lewén (Knock-Out Greg & Blueweather, Sven Zetterberg Bluesband) founded this unique lineup 20 years ago. Since then, many have come to regard the band as one of Europe’s best live acts, regardless of genre. Its music brings R&B, ska and many other styles of rhythmic music together in an energetic, irresistible whole. The Beat From Palookaville hits full force from the very first note, led by charismatic singer Tommy “bigT” Moberg, also known for Trickbag and The Lowdown Saints. The reputation they earned through gigs across Europe also caught the attention of Spanish record label Sleazy Records. Their collaboration has resulted in several acclaimed recordings, but the band truly comes into its own on stage. The Beat From Palookaville doesn’t just play its songs—it takes the audience along from start to finish and leaves them wanting to experience it all again. And again. Now the band returns to one of its favourite places, Finland, and will play Tullikamari Klubi on Thursday 7 January! Expect uncompromising rhythm, powerful horns, infectious grooves and phenomenal live energy. The Beat From Palookaville is a must-see live! Opening the evening is Tampere’s own ska pride, Donna and the Dynamiters.
