Liisa Akimof & Yökerho

The band’s latest album, “Miten asiat oikeesti on?” (“How Things Really Are?”), explores the world of things and junk, from the Ice Age to the present day. Specialty coffees, electric saunas and protein all become pop lyrics, with building control thrown in for good measure. Musically, the album is an unabashed blend of rock, disco and jazz. Yökerho features Mikko Siltanen (bass), Pekka Tuomi (guitar), Antti Vuorenmaa (keyboards) and Sebastian Krühn (drums).

“They are joined by prominent indie musicians of a younger generation, whose own work combines irony, awareness and sincerity in much the same way as Akimof’s” (Ahti Väntänen, Musiikkikirjastot).

Liisa Akimof & Yökerho’s gigs have been energetic and full of surprises, and have become a talking point. Alongside new songs, the set always includes some of Akimof’s older classics, such as Tavaramarkkinat’s “Kevät” (“Spring”).

Amuri

Amuri comes to Tullikamari Klubi to celebrate its new album, due out in October. Amuri is a Tampere-based band comprising Kalevi Suopursu, Mikko Siltanen, Anna Pesonen and Sebastian Krühn. The band’s melodic roots lie between 1970s Finnish schlager, country and rock. With its 2020 debut, Amuri immediately delivered several modern classics, and its subsequent albums have been just as strong. The previous full-length album, “Kun mä kotoa lähdin” (2024), was selected as Radio Helsinki’s Album of the Week and was included among the twelve best albums of 2024 in the Helsingin Sanomat critics’ poll.
