A Tribute to Malmkvist and Skifs

For this production, we have asked the young Gotland personalities Stina Nordberg and Hjalmar Ljungberg to interpret hits by Siw Malmkvist and Björn Skifs. In a programme full of energy and strong emotions, we pay tribute to two of Sweden’s best-loved artists and their importance to Swedish pop and schlager over more than six decades. Their long careers are certainly impressive. Actress Stina Nordberg achieved great success last year alongside Lennart Bäck and Gotland Jazztrio in the County Theatre’s production “Hjördis Pettersson – a Star’s Life”. She grew up on Gotland, trained in Malmö, and is engaged by performing arts venues throughout the country. Hjalmar Ljungberg moved to Gotland in 2023 and has quickly established himself as a versatile musician, singer and arranger. Alongside his employment as a trombonist with Gotlandsmusiken, he is very active in other areas of musical life. Gotlandsmusiken’s Orchestra consists of all fourteen of our musicians. The music has been specially arranged for this production by bassist Josef Karnebäck. Photo: Anna Ericsson
