A Study of Choices. A Choreographic Manuscript
La Scala salen – Kulturrum – Visby – Specksrum 6
A Study of Choices is a dance performance created as a choreographic manuscript for three dancers. For each new venue, three local dancers with different dance backgrounds, ages and levels of experience are engaged. The dancers have no rehearsal time; they meet two hours before the performance and are then given instructions on stage, which they interpret in the moment. The audience witnesses the performance being created from the inside out, through the dancers’ ways of interpreting the instructions and making individual choices. Starting from uncertainty, Lejelind Wardal wants to highlight the performing artist and show the knowledge, quick thinking and experience they possess. This is a study of possibilities for choice, and of what happens in translation.
