We will read an excerpt from Swedish author Johannes Anyuru’s novel *They Will Drown in Their Mothers’ Tears* (2017), a novel set in the future that depicts what a democratic society such as Sweden could become if its democratic values are not safeguarded.
Reading at Dusk is part of the Nordic Literature Week event, which is observed every year throughout the Nordic countries. This year’s theme is Nordic democracy. Anyuru’s text—both the original and its Nordic translations—is read aloud at the same time throughout the Nordic countries.
At Gråbobiblioteket, Eira Werner will read.
Coffee and refreshments will be provided. The event is free, and no advance registration is required.
