Beethoven’s only violin concerto gained recognition only after his death. Today, it is one of the most beloved. Here, soloist and orchestra weave together in a lively conversation. Popular Japanese violinist Akiko Suwanai has everything needed for this virtuosic challenge. As an opener, we hear a powerful piece inspired by Beethoven himself.
