Principal Guest Conductor Pekka Kuusisto brings along the beloved Violin Concerto by his fellow countryman Sibelius, which he has performed throughout his career. This time, he leads the orchestra himself, violin in hand. Jean Sibelius was himself an excellent violinist, but never quite made his mark as a virtuoso.
