Principal Guest Conductor Pekka Kuusisto brings along his compatriot Sibelius’s beloved Violin Concerto, which he has performed throughout his career. This time, he leads the orchestra himself, violin in hand. Jean Sibelius was an excellent violinist, but never quite made his mark as a virtuoso.
