A concert shaped by meditative prayer and Romantic drama. As a quiet final note, Fauré’s consoling and beloved Requiem rings out—a work that envelops the listener in warmth, light and heartfelt peace. Lili Boulanger called her work “Old Buddhist Prayer,” an early 20th-century piece inspired by Buddhist textual traditions.
