Canadian pianist Bruce Liu won the 2021 International Chopin Competition. Tonight’s programme features Rachmaninoff’s challenging variations on Paganini’s well-known theme. Expect pace and drama! Niccolò Paganini was an extraordinary violinist and superstar whom everyone wanted to hear. The short pieces in his Caprice No. 24 have inspired many different composers.
