Mahler’s Fifth

Mahler’s Fifth Symphony vibrates with terror and harmony in an uneasy blend, from the famous opening trumpet fanfare to the swaying Viennese waltz. It also features the famous Adagietto, with its exquisite web of strings suspended between dream and wakefulness. Mahler wrote it as a love letter to his Alma. Before that, we’ll hear newly written music by the acclaimed Finnish composer Sauli Zvinovjev.
