Austrian conductor Manfred Honeck regularly collaborated with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra in the 1990s. He also led the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra for several years. Now he returns to Gothenburg to conduct the concert, which was originally to have been conducted by Herbert Blomstedt. Piano virtuoso Ólafsson won a Grammy for Bach’s Goldberg Variations in 2025 and is the world’s most-streamed classical artist.
