Diagnosis: A Complete Rudnosiukas

The solo performance “Diagnosis: A Complete Rudnosiukas” (or “I Came, I Saw, I Couldn’t”) is based on “Rudnosiuko istorijos,” the first collection of stories and jokes by director and writer Vytautas V. Landsbergis. The book was awarded best children’s book of the year, but don’t be fooled: this performance is for adults. Are you ever at risk of becoming a Rudnosiukas? What are the signs, and how can it be diagnosed and treated? These and many other questions are what a certain Rudnosiukas sets out to answer as he travels through the ages—from the prehistoric times of Vytė Nemunėlis, through the Soviet era, occupations and deportations, right up to the very present day. “The axe fits the head”—so goes a folk saying among Rudnosiukases. We hope it will be so.
