If I Were Prometheus

“I am not Prometheus, but if I were…” – “If Prometheus were me…” – “I think Prometheus was…” Almost all of us know the stories from Greek mythology about Prometheus, who disobeyed the gods of Olympus and gave fire to mortals. But if you had to be Prometheus yourself, would you dare? What would your Promethean story be? Three actors present their own interpretation of the myth to the audience, sharing Promethean stories about hopes and fears, admiration and shame, learning from mistakes and repeating them. Travelling through different historical periods, the creators seek out human Prometheuses. Perhaps they are those who, even knowing they will be punished for disobeying the existing order, dare to light a flame simply so others might have the chance to warm themselves? This theatre work is dedicated to those human Prometheuses.
