When I Was Prometheus

“I am not Prometheus, but if I were…” “If Prometheus were me…” “I think Prometheus was…” Almost everyone knows the Greek myth of Prometheus, who defied the gods of Olympus and gave fire to mortals. But if you had to be Prometheus yourself, would you dare? What would your Promethean story be? Three actors present their own interpretation of the myth to the audience, sharing Promethean stories of hopes and fears, admiration and shame, learning from mistakes and repeating them. Travelling through different historical periods, the creators seek out human Prometheuses. Perhaps they are those who, even knowing they will be punished for defying the established order, dare to light a flame so that others might have the chance to warm themselves? This theatre work is dedicated to those human Prometheuses.
