Koreografin – Johanssons Pelargoner och dans

KOREOGRAFIN is an interactive performance based on audience participation. By following instructions through headphones, the audience creates KOREOGRAFIN together. With imaginary hamsters, confetti and bold movements, the performance explores how the way we move can affect what we think and feel. KOREOGRAFIN is available in 19 languages. Each person chooses which language they want to listen to. In other words, people who do not speak a single word of the same language can take part in the same performance and meet on equal terms.

Since its premiere in 2016, KOREOGRAFIN has been performed more than 700 times around the world.

Languages: Swedish, Arabic, Dari, English, Finnish, Kurdish (Sorani), Meänkieli, Northern Sámi, Norwegian, Pashto, Persian, Romani (Arli), Russian, Somali, Spanish, Southern Sámi, Thai, Turkish and German.

The performance was selected for Ice hot and Young Swedstage 2022, and for Bibu 2018, with the following citation: “Here, we as an audience have the opportunity to change roles. Instead of being spectators, we become co-creators. With the choreographers as our guides through headphones, we are invited to participate using ourselves as our tools, in an accepting space where we quickly understand that we cannot do anything wrong, and that all our movements are right. We discover that our morning routines actually consist of choreographies. We move together; we create shared worlds. It is a performance or an experience, but it is also a physical experience, an exploration of what movement is and what the body can express. This is interactive performing arts.”
