Anton Chekhov’s “Uncle Vanya” is one of the most emotional plays in theatre, revealing with great artistic force the very essence of human life, its greatest desires and bitterest disappointments. In this work about lives wasted in vain, which the author himself called “scenes from country life in four acts,” different genres intertwine—comedy, drama, and tragedy… In the production by Vilnius Small Theatre, there is even more of everything: the celebration of life will burst forth like a deafening firework, while the pain of rejected love, unfulfilled hopes, and dreams will take your breath away.
