Anton Chekhov’s “Uncle Vanya” is one of the most emotional plays in theatre, revealing with great artistic force the very essence of human life, its greatest desires and bitterest disappointments. This work about lives squandered in vain, which the author himself called “scenes from country life in four acts”, weaves together several genres—comedy, drama and tragedy… In the Vilnius Small Theatre production, there is even more of everything: the celebration of life erupts like a deafening firework, while the ache of rejected love, unfulfilled hopes and dreams will leave you breathless.
