Premiere! The Brothers Blackbirds

The well-known fairy tale about how a wicked stepmother turned her stepsons into birds and how their sister rescued them after a long and difficult journey takes on particular relevance in today’s world, according to the creators. How can we live together and survive in a threatening world where life is not valued? These difficult questions trouble both children and adults. The creators say the tale can help the whole family consider these questions through the values at the heart of the play and that they seek to convey: pursuing a goal, protecting and caring for one’s family, helping one another, and being patient and brave. This is the first time the fairy tale has been presented at Vilniaus teatras „Lėlė“. The performance uses a range of artistic techniques from puppet and object theatre, clowning, and street theatre.
