Thumbelina

The story of a tiny girl who endures enormous trials seems made for puppet theatres, and they have indeed staged it successfully. But Vilniaus teatras LĖLĖ’s “Thumbelina” is also a poetic reflection on the wide world as it first opens before the eyes of a small, pure and kind-hearted person. Who is this person? Perhaps it is Thumbelina—or perhaps it is you, who have not yet encountered so many joys and sorrows in life, but have experienced them with all your heart. You must believe, though, that after all the trials, the wide world of people, flowers and birds will be as kind to you as it is to little Thumbelina, and will shine in all the colours of the rainbow!
