Premiere! The Brothers Blackbird

The well-known fairy tale about a stepmother witch who turned her stepsons into birds, and the sister who rescued them after a long and difficult journey, takes on particular relevance in today’s context, according to the creators. How can we live together and survive in a threatening world where life is not valued? These difficult questions trouble both children and adults. They matter to the whole family, and, according to the creators, the values explored in the tale and central to the production may help address them: working towards a goal, protecting and caring for one’s family, helping one another, and being patient and brave. This is the first time the tale has been presented at Vilniaus teatras „Lėlė“. The production uses a variety of artistic techniques from puppet and object theatre, clowning, and street theatre.
