- Saturday 16.01.2027 · 18:00Local time (Europe/Vilnius)
For the first time in Lithuania, three outstanding Neapolitan tenors—Francesco Malapena, Alessandro Fortunato and Francesco Fortes—meet on one stage, inviting you to an evening of Italian music at Alytus Cultural Centre. The programme “Canto Italiano – Three Neapolitan Tenors” brings together the grand tradition of Italian opera and the sunlit romance of Neapolitan songs. The programme features opera arias by Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini, along with the much-loved “’O Sole Mio,” “Torna a Surriento,” “Santa Lucia” and other Italian melodies. The three distinguished tenors have performed in prestigious concert halls across Europe and the world. Francesco Malapena is a laureate of the international Enrico Caruso competition and has performed at the Sydney Opera House, London’s Royal Albert Hall and other renowned venues around the world. Francesco Fortes received the special prize for best male voice at the Luciano Pavarotti competition and has performed leading roles in the operas “La Bohème,” “Madama Butterfly,” “Aida” and “Turandot.” Alessandro Fortunato is a lyric tenor whose repertoire brings together grand Italian opera, musical theatre and the Neapolitan song tradition. The tenors will be accompanied by “Montella Trio,” an instrumental ensemble formed especially for this project, featuring guitar virtuosos Nicola Montella and Valerio Celentano and violinist Andrea Montella. The three Italian instrumentalists’ artistry will lend the programme chamber-music subtlety and an authentic Mediterranean sound. This concert is a musical journey to Italy, where the grandeur of opera meets Neapolitan passion, romance and the vibrant spirit of southern Italy. The tenors’ powerful voices and virtuosic instrumental accompaniment will let you experience the true spirit of Italian music. Don’t miss this special opportunity to hear three Neapolitan tenors on one stage in Lithuania for the first time—January 16 at 6 p.m. at Alytus Cultural Centre!
