DAINOTAS VARNAS with Band: “The Way Home” Concert Tour

Dear friends, last year we travelled around the world together in a hundred minutes, and I must thank you once again—you were the kind of travel companions I could only have dreamed of. This year I want to invite you to set off with me on another musical journey, even better and more interesting. I say this with confidence because it will be entirely LITHUANIAN! Yes, this time my road leads home, and we will travel through the pages of our rich and wonderfully beautiful musical history. This year is special for me; it has changed my whole life. Starting a family has made me feel even more deeply rooted in my native land. And my desire to sing and share quality Lithuanian music with you is especially strong. Birštonas, Utena, Jonava, Ukmergė, Kaunas, Šiauliai, Kėdainiai, Rokiškis, Marijampolė, Alytus, Klaipėda, Anykščiai, Kretinga, Druskininkai, Mažeikiai, Vilnius, Telšiai and Plungė: this is the route of Dainotas Varnas’s “The Way Home.” With a carefully put-together, 100-minute LITHUANIAN programme, the singer will visit 18 cities in Lithuania. The tour begins in December 2026 and ends in January 2027.

For some, the way home means travelling to their parents’ for Christmas; for others, returning to their home district, city or country. For still others, “the way home” means a spiritual journey of self-discovery. Dainotas Varnas will lead us home through the history of Lithuanian music. “It won’t be boring,” promises the singer, who is polishing his new LITHUANIAN programme. The very start of the concert will certainly surprise you. Dainotas Varnas has prepared a piece that is very well known and especially dear to him personally. We would confidently bet a million that you will not guess which piece it is.

After the introduction, we will begin our musical journey in the 1960s. We will remember the greats of Lithuanian estrada music, Stasys Povilaitis and Antanas Čapas. Both singers have passed away, but the songs they performed are written in golden letters in the history of Lithuanian music. “I have had the chance to sing alongside these distinguished people. I treasure those memories and will share them with you,” says Dainotas Varnas.

As we travel through the decades, we will also encounter poet Stasys Baltakis, composer Laimis Vilkončius, the group „Studija“, singer Irena Starošaitė, and many other figures who shaped the history of Lithuanian popular music. Dainotas Varnas will perform their songs in his own way. We can look forward to more than one gem shining anew.

Last year, at the “Around the World in 100 Minutes” concerts, Dainotas Varnas demonstrated a particularly wide vocal range, a sensitive and original approach to music, and respect for the songs he performs. He will be accompanied by a music group; contemporary technologies that expand the boundaries of music will be used in the performance, and the singer also promises to draw on his unique experience of singing a cappella. “I promise that on stage I will do something no other soloist in Lithuania has done before,” he teased.
