PREMIERE from December 4!
The heroes of the romantic comedy “Dating Games,” Ričardas and Džulija, officially divorced recently, but their divorce exists only as a formality on paper. After spending many years married, the couple remained close friends, sincerely wishing each other happiness in new relationships. Yet it soon becomes clear that this is much more complicated than it might seem at first glance…
They both start looking for new partners by going on blind dates. Although dates are a great opportunity to find a soulmate, things become much trickier when you have spent several decades married. The former spouses, Ričardas and Džulija, encounter colourful and sometimes downright odd dating partners. Each new meeting only reinforces the sense that the whole world of dating is one big misunderstanding. The increasingly bewildered Ričardas and disappointed Džulija would have given up long ago if they did not keep supporting each other. Will their attempts to find love again end in complete failure? Or will they get lucky after all, and new, beautiful relationships enter their lives?
“Dating Games” is a fun, fast-paced and sharply witty comedy about men and women trying to understand each other, fall for each other and, if they are lucky, make it to a second date. There will be plenty of mistakes, unexpected turns, triumphs, fiascos and laughter, because love, like sport, takes endurance, courage and a little luck.
The play was written by British playwright Peter Quilter, whose works are staged in more than 40 countries, including on Broadway and in London’s West End. P. Quilter is one of the most frequently staged contemporary playwrights in the world, a two-time nominee for the prestigious Olivier Award (for Best New Play and Best New Comedy), and his Broadway debut earned three Tony nominations.
