The Trial is a wild one-act comedy about marriage, the illusions of long-term relationships, the truth, and the telltale… new underwear. Suspicious Wife (Ineta Stasiulytė) invites her Husband (Kęstutis Cicėnas) to eat cottage cheese bake, but instead of lunch they find themselves straight in the courtroom, where Judge (Larisa Kalpokaitė) awaits them. The search for truth turns into an absurd battle, a delving into the most intimate household secrets, and a pile of accusations. Is it a crime to have secrets? Who at home screws the pickles’ lids on too tight? Is a hole in underwear evidence? Beneath exaggerated emotions and baseless accusations lie real feelings, a longing for love, and deception. The Court will resolve them all! The Trial is a comedy full of genuine, sincere humanity, about couples failing to understand one another, masculine logic, feminine intuition, and the desire to be “right” at any cost.
