The tradition of seeing out the old year with the best music continues! On December 30, audiences at Palangos koncertų salė can look forward to a special New Year’s concert featuring three stage legends: one of Lithuania’s best-loved performers, Kastytis Kerbedis; the disco kings Bad Boys Blue; and Sweden’s Arrival From Sweden, recognised worldwide as ambassadors of ABBA’s music, performing The Music of ABBA.
Kastytis Kerbedis is a legend of the Lithuanian stage. For more than three decades, his songs have been heard in concert halls, on the radio and in listeners’ hearts. At the New Year’s concerts, audiences will hear the performer’s best-known hits, including “Nakty,” “Dėl tavęs galiu,” “Pienių vynas,” “Mėlynakė,” “Vėjai keturi” and many others that have become part of the golden treasury of Lithuanian pop music.
Bad Boys Blue are an iconic Eurodance group that has been performing since 1984. Their enduring frontman, John McInerney, is the only member of the original lineup who remains, continuing the group’s story and performing for fans around the world. The group’s repertoire includes the hits “You’re a Woman,” “Pretty Young Girl,” “Come Back and Stay,” “I Wanna Hear Your Heartbeat” and many other songs that have become an integral part of pop-music classics from the 1980s and 1990s. Although the lineup has changed several times over more than four decades, Bad Boys Blue have stayed true to their sound and continue to invite audiences to sing and dance along to their familiar hits.
To bring the New Year’s concert to its climax, Sweden’s Arrival From Sweden, described as the world’s best ABBA tribute group, will take the stage. Audiences can expect an impressive live performance recreating the spirit, energy and sound of the legendary Swedish quartet. The programme features all-time favourites: “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” “SOS,” “The Winner Takes It All,” “Super Trouper,” “Money, Money, Money,” “Fernando,” “Waterloo,” “Chiquitita,” “Knowing Me, Knowing You,” “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!,” “Thank You For The Music” and, of course, the unofficial New Year’s anthem, “Happy New Year.”
