The new musical production “The Star Was Born” is a witty, brutal and deeply moving story about the price of fame and the collapse of identity behind the scenes. When an unexpected voice upends the theatre’s hierarchy, the company splits apart, games of love and ambition reveal art as a commodity, and every duet becomes a confession. The production reminds us that the road to success often demands more than it seems from the outside.

⭐️ Nina (played by Lina Rastokaitė), the beloved diva of the stage, gradually loses her place in the limelight when Ieva (Paula Valentaitė), a modest wardrobe volunteer, appears at the theatre. At first shy, the young woman soon draws everyone’s attention: Nina’s husband, music composer Joe (Jokūbas Bareikis), director Mark (Simonas Storpirštis/Ainis Storpirštis), and theatre critic Steve (Ainius Storpirštis/Mykolas Vildžiūnas) all become captivated by her. Eventually, Ieva gets the leading role in a new production, while Nina is offered a supporting role. Is it all just a coincidence, or a carefully planned path to fame?

Legendary songs from the film “A Star Is Born” will also be performed live during the production, making this a theatrical evening with a unique experience.

⭐️ “The Star Was Born” is inspired by two iconic films: Joseph L. Mankiewicz’s “All About Eve” (1950) and Bradley Cooper’s “A Star Is Born” (2018). An original play that brings together themes from both works in a story relevant to today, it begins its tour around the country on October 8.
