Musical Comedy “Is America in the Bathhouse?!”

Dear audience members, On behalf of the organizer, we inform you that the musical comedy “Is America in the Bathhouse?!” scheduled for August 13 at 19:00 has been rescheduled to December 13 at 18:00. Your tickets remain valid and do not need to be exchanged. If the new event date does not suit you, you can: For the first time at Palangos koncertų salė, the musical comedy “Is America in the Bathhouse?!” starring Deivis Norvilas and Sandra Lebrikaitė. Tired of banalities, cheap jokes, soap-opera plots, and computer-generated music?! Here, audiences will see a sincere, genuine comedy—and an extraordinary one: a musical! “Is America in the Bathhouse?!” is the first Lithuanian play, brought to life with music and songs, touring venues in cities across Lithuania to great success. “Ah, America…” the characters sigh more than once, fully understanding that “the grass is always greener on the other side.” Here, Lithuanian sauna whisks will smash the mirages of the “promised land” to pieces, while the heat of the sauna will wittily expose the weaknesses of the gullible and the deceit of the selfish. Human failings—greed, stupidity, and pride—turned into caricatured characters will let us laugh at the figures (and perhaps at ourselves, too). Director Nerijus Petrokas has brought the plot of this classic Lithuanian play to life with melodies specially arranged by Vytautas Lukočius, a conductor known for his work on TV projects. This appealing creative vision is brought to stages across Lithuania by the nimble performer Deivis Norvilas, the charming Sandra Lebrikaitė, and artists from the Kaunas musical ensemble “Ainiai.” But what do the question mark and exclamation mark in the title mean? Come and find out for yourselves—it is a fresh look at a comedy that has become a classic!
