“Couples Therapy” is a one-act psychological comedy about a relationship in which patience has run out, but a handful of love remains. Eglė (G. Glemžaitė) is a young mother desperately trying to save her family. Exhausted by crises, sleepless nights and the constant cynicism of her husband Marčius (J. Jankevičius), she tricks him into attending “unconventional” couples therapy with Algimantas (V. Kaniušonis), a strange but incredibly effective specialist. The psychologist doesn’t mince words and, instead of calm conversations, uses somewhat unconventional treatment methods. Algimantas provokes, manipulates, traumatises and heals all at once—but all of it is intended to help the couple finally speak up, let it all out and perhaps… recover. In the play, laughter meets painful truths, while grotesque situations reveal how often love hides beneath anger, irony and resentment. It is a story about two young parents who can still save their family—if only they dare to hear one another. The creators of the comedy promise that its abundance of absurd situations will invite audiences to laugh a lot and laugh out loud. Scriptwriter and director: Tadas Vidmantas. Starring: Gelminė Glemžaitė, Justinas Jankevičius and Vytautas Kaniušonis. Produced by: Vabalo filmai.
