Concert Series “From Christmas to New Year”: Disney Film Music — A Musical Afternoon for the Whole Family

This year, during the festive season, Kaunas Philharmonic opens its doors to its youngest listeners, too. They can look forward to a concert featuring music from much-loved, well-known animated films. “Today you’ll hear music that’s tailored to children but also suits adults,” says the concert’s soloist Eglė Vakarinaitė. Children, parents and grandparents alike know animated films such as *Beauty and the Beast*, *The Little Mermaid*, *Aladdin*, *Frozen*, *The Princess and the Frog*, *101 Dalmatians*, *Pocahontas* and *The Lion King*. Beyond their colourful characters and captivating stories, they all share wonderful music that not only enhances the images but also becomes an integral part of the stories. Oscars are awarded for music heard in animated films; it is written by musical legends such as Phil Collins, Elton John and Peter Gabriel, and is on a par with the most notable works of pop, rock and jazz, as well as musicals. “Together with the Musica humana ensemble, we want to tell you about the songs from animated films that have enchanted the whole world. It’s a joyful musical journey, full of songs that children and their parents hum together,” adds singer E. Vakarinaitė. We invite you to celebrate this special season together with music that brings generations together and lets you dive once more into the world of your favourite animated films. Recommended age: tailored to children but suitable for adults, too (ages 5 to 99).
