A Musical Afternoon for the Whole Family: “Choir to Heaven”

Two opera geniuses and lifelong rivals who never met in real life—Richard Wagner and Giuseppe Verdi—unexpectedly meet at the Gates of Heaven, where the Heavenly Choir, led by the chief conductor, is rehearsing their finest choruses. When an argument breaks out over whose choruses are better and more beautiful, one of the composers utters a forbidden word at the gates, and suddenly they find themselves in the vestibule of Hell. Will they manage to find their way back and return to where the most wonderful music by both great composers rings out blissfully? You’ll find out all this and more during “Choir to Heaven,” an afternoon filled with beautiful choral music and the actors’ lively antics. The magnificent Kaunas State Choir invites you for the first time, ready to have some fun with its cheerful audience. The choir is known not only for its classical programs but also often appears in unexpected roles, so this musical afternoon is sure to surprise everyone, young and old.
