Symphonic Ballet for Eight Hands

The concert “Symphonic Ballet for Eight Hands” is a project that brings together artistry, movement and innovative music-making. This distinctive piano quartet performance features four virtuoso pianists, members of the chamber ensemble “Inseparable Pianists”: Lukas Gedvilas, Kamilė Zaveckaitė, Lauryna Lankutytė-Levickė and Gabija Maknavičiūtė-Janavičienė. Formed fifteen years ago, the quartet of M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts alumni comes to life in this project as a breathing organism: the pianists move and seem to pulse in a single rhythm, take up one another’s ideas, interact sensitively and create music in an instant, like a living symphony born on stage. The ensemble’s remarkable synchronisation and harmonious synergy are revealed to audiences not only through sound, but also visually, through movement, changing choreographic formations and stage action. The concert stands out for its unusual, deliberately curated repertoire, shaped by the aesthetics of folk dance, ballet and symphonic thought. The programme weaves together elegant, spirited and colourful works of classical music, creating a rich tapestry of dance melodies and harmonies.
