Starkus and Radzevičius: After 20 Years — Travel Humour Stories by the Campfire

At the end of 2006, two friends got into an old Mercedes and set off for Africa. Vytaras drove, while Martynas filmed. After they returned to Lithuania, a few episodes of the travel series “Afrika LT” soon appeared on LRT. It might have ended there: the friends went back to their previous jobs, but… This then-new travel format in Lithuania unexpectedly became a huge success. Episodes that might otherwise have remained somewhere in the margins of television history marked the beginning of an entirely new phenomenon.

Over the past twenty years, Starkus and Radzevičius have become leading figures in travel TV projects in Lithuania. Their example inspired many now well-known travel content creators in the country to hit the road and share their experiences with a wide audience. Their unique, comic and often dramatic adventures have been told not only on screen, but also in books, podcasts and at numerous events for fans of the duo’s storytelling.

Twenty years after that memorable morning before Christmas, Martynas is still travelling and making the popular TV travel shows “Tai Kur Toliau?”, while Vytaras, now settled in the forests of Dzūkija, shares his experience of life outdoors and talks about it on the audience-favourite “Vytaro Ferma”.

The special evening “Po 20 metų” is a great opportunity for them to meet once again, recall the funny stories they experienced together and talk about the adventures that continue to this day. Expect plenty of laughter, amusing situations and improvisation, as well as an opportunity for audience members to get answers to questions asked during the evening.
