At the end of 2006, two friends got into an old Mercedes and set off for Africa. Vytaras drove; Martynas filmed. After they returned to Lithuania, a few episodes of the travel series “Afrika LT” were soon broadcast on LRT. It might have ended there: the friends went back to their former jobs, but… Unexpectedly, this then-new travel format in Lithuania became a huge success. Episodes that might have been relegated to the backwaters of television history became the beginning of an entirely new phenomenon.
Over the past twenty years, Starkus and Radzevičius have become leading figures in Lithuanian travel TV, and their example has inspired many now well-known travel-content creators in the country to hit the road and share their experiences with a wide audience. Their unique, comic and often dramatic adventures have been captured not only on screen, but also in books, podcasts and numerous meetings with fans of the duo’s storytelling.
Twenty years after that memorable morning before Christmas, Martynas is still travelling and making popular TV travel shows, “Tai Kur Toliau?”, while Vytaras, having put down roots in the forests of Dzūkija, shares his experience of life in nature and talks about it in the viewers’ favourite “Vytaro Ferma”.
The special evening “Po 20 metų” is a perfect opportunity for the two to meet again, recall the funny stories they experienced together and talk about their continuing adventures today. Expect lots of laughter, funny situations and improvisation, as well as the chance for audience members to get answers to questions during the evening. A fantastic evening full of good cheer is guaranteed! Let’s have fun.
