Exciting news for theatre lovers! Merūnas Vitulskis and Marius Repšys are moving into a “little garage” with their new comedy, “Don’t Tell Your Wife,” which will soon begin touring Lithuania. Darelis and Marčius meet in Darelis’s garage—a place where they can escape from family and everyday life. With beer and quiet for company, the men begin a symbolic “technical inspection,” discussing work, their friendship and hobbies. As usual, Marčius opens up about problems in his relationship with his longtime girlfriend. Darelis is also experiencing emotional distance from his family, made even more acute by the unexpected news that they are moving to Gdańsk. Before it is too late, the two decide to fulfil a long-held dream: to travel down Lithuania’s rivers on a raft. Will they manage to find a balance between family, friendship and men’s dreams? Audiences will soon find out in theatres. This is a warm, comic and, at the same time, melancholy story about male friendship, a midlife crisis and the longing for freedom.
“Since time immemorial, for many Lithuanians a little garage has been a refuge from household chores and obligations at home, like an oasis of freedom and independence. That’s why we men become our true selves there, completely open, down to our very bones, without any masks. Miraculous things happen in garages, where one man never judges another and nobody gets angry with anyone about anything. Paradise,” said M. Repšys.
