KKC “Suktinis” 90th Anniversary Concert “You Are Like a Beacon to Me…”

On November 28, we invite you to the 90th anniversary concert of “Suktinis,” the senior folk dance ensemble of Kaunas Cultural Centre. For almost nine decades, the ensemble has nurtured Lithuanian folk dance traditions, brought together people who are passionate about dance, and contributed through its activities to preserving national culture. “Suktinis” was one of the first ensembles in Lithuania to begin creating themed concert dance programmes. Over its long history, the ensemble has trained many generations of dancers, and a love of national art and togetherness has become an integral part of many participants’ lives. Dancers and musicians from different generations will meet at the event. Performing alongside “Suktinis” will be: This is an opportunity to recall a shared history, meet old friends, and celebrate the fact that the folk dance tradition lives on, connects generations, and is passed from one hand to another. Doors open: 1 hour before the event. Event duration: 2 hours. Venue: KKC (Vytauto pr. 79). The event is free. Photographs will be taken during the event and shared on Kaunas Cultural Centre’s communication channels.
