The Inspector General

“The Inspector General” has finally arrived at the State Šiauliai Drama Theatre! Accompanied by Aidas Giniotis, a master of witty improvisation, the play invites us to laugh at our innate desire to be at least a little cleverer and more equal than others. Well into the 21st century, we imagine that we have more or less figured out the games manipulators play and the possible corruption schemes. But have we really? Or have we merely learned not to notice them? Would anyone today truly know who is corrupt and who is merely their victim? And what if we do not even know who the greatest manipulators and “grey eminences” are? In a world entangled in endless manipulation, bribes, and systems where “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours,” it seems impossible to unravel the knot of corruption into a straight thread. And that is not a funny thought at all. Funded by: Publications:
