Daughter

In her autobiographical novel *Mother*, Danish writer Karina Mikaelis lovingly and with gentle humour portrays her mother. The performance brings to life several episodes from the novel, revealing the many shades of family feeling. Like the novel’s author, the creators of this performance speak about complex, conflicting, unspoken and concealed feelings, as well as the deeply warm and compassionate bonds between those closest to one another—a mother and her children. Do mothers really know their children best? How can children live with the shadows of their parents’ past? How can we love our loved ones without hurting them with that love?
