The Government Šiauliai Drama Theatre: The Government Inspector

“The Government Inspector” has finally arrived at the Government Šiauliai Drama Theatre! Accompanied by Aidas Giniotis, a master of witty improvisation, “The Government Inspector” invites us to laugh at our innate desire to be at least a little more cunning and more equal than others. Well into the 21st century, we imagine that we have more or less figured out the games manipulators play and the corruption schemes they might use. But have we really? Or have we merely learned not to notice them? Is there anyone today who truly knows who is corrupt and who is merely their victim? And what if we do not even know who the biggest manipulators and “grey cardinals” are? In a world entangled in endless manipulation, bribes and “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” systems, it seems impossible to unravel the knot of corruption into a straight thread. And that is not a funny thought at all. Funded by: Publications:
