This winter, music filled with the atmosphere of Italian evenings, love, cinema and the joy of life will sweep across Lithuania. “ROMANTIC SAX” returns with a programme that will make you want to book a ticket to Rome, fall in love or at least sing “Felicità” loudly in the car on your way home!
On stage is one of Lithuania’s most charismatic saxophonists, Juozas Kuraitis, whose concert tickets often disappear from ticketing systems faster than there is time to tell people about them, and pianist Daumantas Slipkus, whose playing on stage is more than accompaniment—it becomes a live musical conversation with the saxophone. At Panevėžio Muzikinis Teatras, pianist Lukas Gedvilas will perform alongside saxophonist Juozas Kuraitis.
The evening will feature legendary Italian hits once performed by Adriano Celentano, Zucchero, Al Bano and Romina Power, Andrea Bocelli, Ricchi e Poveri, The Kolors, and other Italian music legends. The programme includes music you will recognise from the very first notes: “Felicità,” “Libertà,” “Vivo per lei,” “Mamma Maria,” “Caruso,” melodies from the films “The Godfather” and “Cinema Paradiso,” and many other works that have become true classics of Italian music.
At this concert, the audience sings along, the hall sways from the first notes, people smile at one another, and after the concert no one wants to leave for a long while.
The saxophone will sound so lively and emotional that at times it may seem as though the whole hall has briefly been transported to a small Italian square somewhere in Rome—where music plays, espresso is in the air, and life moves a little more slowly.
“ROMANTIC SAX” concerts have become evenings people return to. Because this is more than music. It is a feeling.
